Contract Law

Contract Law is the basis to many areas of Law, especially in Conveyancing and Corporate work, to name a few. I have learnt that the formation of contract is influenced by a multitude of factors. The development of the English and Wales spectrum with regards to Contract Law has affected the recent directions used by the Malaysian jurisdiction. I like to study details and read in between languages used in documents. To me, Contract Law is interesting because I get to read information with scrutiny and formulate my own understandings and opinions. It intrigues me that people could use the loopholes in languages to excape liabilities in agreements, but such is strictly prohibited and enforced otherwise through the application of Contract Law.

Tort Law

This is my favourite subject thus far because I am able to relate to it much more easily. It concerns civil wrongs committed by wrongdoers and it struck me that these are the daily situations of trespasses and negligence that we may come across every single day. In my daily encounters, I would often ponder if one's action would fail under the strict rules of Tort Law. It gives me a hint of satisfaction that people are obliged to treat each other with care in everyday situations and at workplaces. I feel that this is how humanity should be upheld: to ensure we care and be responsible for each other's wellbeing.

English Legal System

The study into the legal system of a foreign western country can be extremely daunting to me sometimes. However, more often than not, it fascinates me. In my opinion, a country with so many years of history and the fundamental development of commonwealth law has so many to offer to every Law student. I have learnt that every detail of the jurisdiction, from the intricate traditional systems of the legal system to the liberal method to govern the country with Law, never failed to act as a precedence to many other commonwealth countries.

Constitutional and Administrative Law

Constitutional and Administrative Law is a subject which brings one onto a journey of never ending fascination of the intricate details of the long-standing English Law, which has substantive influence to the commonwealth countries. The English Constitutional and Administrative Law is very well organized and stands strong in the midst of the erosion of the new era and liberal ideas. It has a stable and functional basis to push forth developments of the law, and it will continue to serve so in the future.

Legal Skills

With the overwhelming information on hand, it will not be of good use if one does not know how to apply it. Through legal skills, I have learnt how to present legal related documents and solutions to legal problems in a coherant manner. The usage of appropriate legal terminology is also taught to suit approprate audiences. Presentations on recent heated topics like the Sedition Act also prepares us for the the current issues that the society is concerned about, which is the gist of this subject.
